The First Vines are in the Ground

The first of our vines arrived this week and are in the ground. They are Semillon vines which are a white Bordeaux variety. We'll primarily use their juice to blend with our Sauvignon Blanc to add body, texture and complexity to the wine. We'll also have the option to produce a Semillon-only wine and could even make a Sauterne style bottling. Right now, they're little bare root scions that will grow into productive vines in about 3 years.
