It Begins at The Soil

For the most part, we have about 8 inches of loam over sand and soft sandstone. It's really well draining and not overly fertile - perfect for wine grapes. For best soil health, we're adding about 2% compost and horse manure as we prepare for planting. We may add more in the future, but it is our goal to never add any fertilizer. This will contribute to healthy soil microbiome, even plant growth and not pollute our environment.
