Big Changes Ahead at Griffin Hill

In the Santa Cruz Mountains, it's rare to find land that's level enough to farm. We got monumentally lucky and bought a historic farm on Skyline Blvd. At 2,600 feet and south facing on well-drained soils, it's perfect for wine grape growing. You can see in the photo that we're underway putting in the new vineyard. The red barn will serve as our winery until we can build a new one. While we'll miss our old farm, we're excited to be building on this delightful land that is within easy reach of the Bay Area, more level and just the right size for us going forward.
