Harvest, Crush Complete
The heat wave that hit us in the first week of September was ferocious, making people and grapes suffer. we were bringing in grapes, but there were many we needed to get to and they were cosmetically suffering by the time we brought them in, days after the biggest temperatures, at time, around 105 degrees, hit. Our fears have have proven unfounded, as the must and wines we're now filling barrels with are fantastic and balanced. At this point, it is looking like one of our best, if not our best vintage, as we smell and taste the early wines. It's a relief to get these loads into the winery and know they are great.
